The LG Xenon is a message phone created by LG for AT & T. The phone looks like a normal touch phone at first but when you take a closer look you will be able to figure out how well equipped the phone is with awesome features. The phone is pretty sleek and has dimensions of 4.16 inches by 2.11 inches and can easily fit into your front pocket. The weight of the phone is a mere 3.81 ounces which is neither too light and nor too heavy. This makes handling very easy and provides a secure grip on the phone. The touch screen is 2.8 inches which is smaller than the regular 3 inch touch screens but the colors and the graphics that it supports is great. The resolution of the screen is 240 x 400 pixels which makes the pictures vibrant and colorful and the graphics smooth and easy to understand. The screen allows you to view the date, battery life, signal strength and a photo caller ID. You can in fact, view the date and the time even when the phone is locked. The LG Xenon enables you to adjust the brightness, back light and the font size according to your requirements.
There are several useful shortcuts on the screen which make navigation a breeze. The menu is also pretty user friendly and a pleasure to use even for first time users. You can customize your home page with the six widgets that are available in the phone. These widgets are analog clock, a world clock, the calendar, sticky notes, the image gallery, and the music player. There is a drop down menu of short cuts exclusive to this phone which is called ‘Annunciator’. There are many useful shortcuts here which allow you to access your favorite applications with just a single touch. There is an inbuilt accelerometer. However, this is only applicable to certain applications like web pages for example. The 2 mega pixel camera takes great pictures and the virtual keyboard makes typing long messages a breeze. There is a slight learning curve in the touch screen. You may end up selecting a few wrong choices while scrolling through menus in the beginning but it is fairly easy to get over it.
Since the phone is mainly a messaging phone the messaging options of the phone are pretty good. Apart from that, the battery backup and the call quality are also above average. Overall, the phone is a great messaging phone which has lots of features. The features are all very useful and the phone can be used pretty easily by anyone and even first time users find it pretty easy to navigate through the phone. The user interface is also very friendly and enables you to browse through all its features wit relative ease. The best part is that the phone not only serves its purpose of being a good message phone, it also looks and feels good and is a pleasure to use.
